No More Amazement!

Other more seasoned theatrical folk have said it before and I am again reminded, “How amazing Shakespeare is!” My work on this current production of “The Tempest” is serving as a well welcomed refresher course.

In a fairly straightforward, any practitioner with his or her weight in greasepaint knows that Shakespeare can always be so very much more, foil role that is Alonso in what is the man’s last solo venture in writing there are countless references to his past cannon. I am finding moments where Alonso calls to mind no less than: Richard II, Charles VI from “Henry V”, Gloucester from “King Lear”, and maybe even a hint of Theseus in “Midsummer”.

Yesterday, I lifted a slight amount of weights in my building’s gym to begin the conditioning of my upper-body. I think I might get my haircut this evening, as I want the costumer to have a chance to weigh in on what I will look like accentuating my receding hairline.

Tomorrow, meeting with a potential board member for T&L (which we surely need), and a possible return trip for me to a potential theatrical home for us. Things are moving along nicely. Sadly, we lost a member of our ensemble this weekend, thought I am quite happy for the opportunity she moved on to. We just might be opening an audition for the rest of our season in the near future.

Well lunch is winding down, and I am “Wondrous Heavy”.
